I Always Thought I Would See You Again
The first time we met, we danced all night long.
I had to come back for more.
Much to the annoyance of your other dance partners
We headed for the dance floor.
And we both knew the first night, right from the start
Someone special had come into our lives.
Me, I thought you were my savior, and you..
Thought I would be your wife.
As the years progressed, 7 to be exact,
Life became a chore for you.
Other responsibilities arose from the past
That challenged the good man that I knew.
What changes there were to this life we had made!
Changes that should have been good.
Causing turmoil in my home, in my head.
I'm sorry, I showed you the door.
But I always thought I would see you again,
Everyday I spoke kindly of you..
I would tell anyone who would listen to me
About a great, special person I knew.
Now, I find that you have left this earth-
I never got to say goodbye.
I wasn't able to tell you the things in my heart
Most of all, I want to tell you why..
I'll love you, forever, in this life and the next.
And what I learned from you,
That the most important qualities in a person-
